Agreed to the above, but maybe few besides those who have served in active duty consider it that way.
I have also seen a Jenner pilot or two finish off the last 3 or 4 remaining, highly damaged, mechs before. While this is highly commendable, not everybody can pull it off and definitely not in "any old mech". I salute each and every one of you that can.
That being said, if a team mate has participated actively in the battle to the best of their abilities and still ends up the last man standing with no apparent hope of winning, I don’t see an issue with them leaving the battlefield and denying the enemy team that last +1 to their KDR.
When the word “honor” enters the argument we should note that it was considered “honorable” to allow a defeated enemy to retreat, not cut them down in blood lust which was seen as “dishonorable”.
I think you need to define for yourself the exact reason why you are upset that you/your team did not make that last kill. The truth might be uglier than you want to admit.
